Land Registry holds data on the majority of privately owned properties within England and Wales.

Critical to the house buying process these enquiries will include a search of the Title Register and provide a Title Plan.

The conveyancer must be satisfied that the property you are buying has a ‘clear title’ which guarantees the buyer can purchase without any kind of impairment, lien, or levy from other parties that poses no question as to legal ownership.

The Title Register and Title Plan will include:

  • Title Number (register)
  • Ownership details (register)
  • Easements, right's of way and covenants (register)
  • Purchase price and value (register)
  • Title Number (plan)
  • Orientation and scale (1:1250) (plan)
  • Boundaries of the property or land (plan)
  • Extent of the property owned (plan)
